2) NEVER add content before selecting a theme.

No guarantees mind you, but go ahead and answer some of those questions they ask you when setting up a new site.

When any luck, you might get something you're almost happy with from the get-go.

CHANGING THEMES

If you have more than one site, go to the dashboard and click on the "Switch site" link in the upper left-hand corner, right under the [My Sites] button.

Make sure the correct site is selected.

THEN go down to Appearance -> Themes

Enter desired theme in the search box.

Click the 3-dot menu on the theme, then hit the [Activate] button.

"Theme not yet available for this site."

WOW.

Since I went ahead and answered WordPress' initial questions when setting up this new site, I ended up with a home page displaying travel related images.

The default theme is Meraki.

I was tempted to select Astra, just to see how fast this thing can download, but I went ahead and tried to activate OceanWP in order to get as much practice as possible using Elementor.

SO...

You DO basically have to know what you're doing right out of the box.

Not only do you need the business plan to access SEO plugins, you also need it to access specific themes...for EVERY site you have.

SO...

I'll let the business plan expire for my initial site, and then upgrade my new site with the business plan.
